BIOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING
Understanding of the organism and its essential biological requirements.
CRL is COLP's developing framework for measuring the distance between biological existence and credible recoverability.
CRL asks whether the knowledge, material, ecology, technology, habitat, protection, and operational capability needed for recovery are actually in place.
Its purpose is diagnostic: identify the weakest continuity capabilities, direct work toward them, and make improvement measurable over time.
CRL is still under development. COLP is not presenting the current dimensions as a finished certification standard.

Understanding of the organism and its essential biological requirements.
Understanding of relationships and ecological functions recovery depends on.
Sufficiency of preserved material, diversity, knowledge, and biological dependencies.
Capability to culture, propagate, reproduce, reconstruct, or otherwise use preserved assets.
Feasibility of survival, reintroduction, and regained ecological function.
Legal, policy, access, and institutional protections required for continuity.
Ability to coordinate and execute recovery when required.
Every COLP project should be able to answer: which continuity-readiness deficiency does this work close?
